After several weeks of outdoor in-person services in our field and at the Real Life Amphitheater, we're making our return to our main building on August 2. As we prepare, these next two Sunday services will be online only. The services will stream live on Sunday at 9am at YouTube.com/harvestcitychurch and available for replay anytime after.
No matter where we are, let's worship together.
Hey Harvest City family,
We have two special Sunday evening services coming up on July 5 & 12 at 6:00 pm. These services will be held at the Real Life Amphitheater at River City Church in Selma, TX (16765 Lookout Rd). The open-air amphitheater seats up to 20,000 people with 8,000 in covered seating and 12,000 uncovered open lawn seating. There will be plenty of space to accommodate our families while adhering to the minimum health protocols and CDC guidelines.
Here are a few important details for our services on July 5 & 12:
We also encourage those who are in the high-risk category (individuals 65 or older with pre-existing health conditions) to or livestream / online options.
For any questions, please feel free to email us at info@harvestcity.church.
We'll see you at the Amphitheater!
On May 31, we will resume our on-site services at Harvest City Church. In an effort to resume our gatherings safely and responsibly, we will hold only one service at 9:00 am in our open field, adjacent to our main building. This will provide our families, friends, and guests multiple options to participate in our outdoor worship experience.
Option 1: Park. For those interested in this method, you will enter through Gate A. One of our friendly Serve Team members will greet you upon arrival and direct you to a parking space in our main parking lot. You may exit your vehicle and make your way to the designated areas in the field for open-space seating. Outdoor tents and coverings will be made available on a first come, first served basis. We strongly encourage you to bring your own chairs. Members of the same household can sit together while maintaining six feet of separation from other parties. Individuals who are not members of the same household but are attending the service together can sit together. Face coverings are not required but encouraged.
Option 2: Drive-in. For those choosing this method, you will enter through Gate B. You will be greeted by one of our friendly Serve Team members as you make your way to the open field. A parking attendant will guide you to ensure there is adequate space between each vehicle. From there, you may remain in your vehicle or exit and remain car side. If you choose to remain in your vehicle, be sure to lower your window enough so that you can clearly hear the service.
Option 3: Online. For those unable to attend or not quite ready to meet, our services will stream live on Facebook on Sundays at 9:00 am. You may play it back on-demand any time after. (Visit: https://www.facebook.com/pg/HarvestCitySA/videos to view our live-stream services.)
We will adhere to the CDC guidelines and the “Guidance for Houses of Worship” set by the Governor and Attorney General of the state of Texas. All of our staff and volunteers will be thoroughly screened and properly trained prior to serving, and will be equipped with gloves and face coverings while serving you.
Restrooms. The building will be closed with the exception to the restrooms. Our teams will frequently clean and disinfect high-traffic touchpoint areas in the building which includes doors, restrooms, and any surfaces that come into contact with team members and attendees.
Hand sanitizing stations will be made available in the building and on the field.
Children’s ministry will not be available at this time.
Please practice social distancing (maintain 6ft separation), avoid hand-to-hand contact (air hugs and fist bumps for now), and self-screen prior to your arrival. Screening questions and health protocols can be found here.
We also encourage those who are in the high-risk category (individuals 65 or older with pre-existing health conditions) to consider the drive-in or online options. It is our recommendation but not a requirement.
For any questions, please feel free to email us at info@harvestcity.church.
We look forward to worshipping on the field… together.
Dear Harvest City Family,
Earlier this week, Governor Abbott announced the first phase of the ongoing plan to safely and strategically re-open Texas while minimizing the spread of COVID-19. Some are supportive of the staged re-opening and see it as a positive sign that we are returning to some form of normalcy. While others believe the plan is being implemented prematurely with concerns that it deviates considerably from what public health officials say is needed for safe returns to life in Texas. You may fall in one of those two categories.
How does the Governor’s plan affect Harvest City Church?
We are pleased that Governor Abbott has stated that churches are essential and permitted to remain open. The First Amendment of the United States Constitution and Article I of the Texas Constitution protects our rights to worship and freely exercise religion according to the dictates of our own consciences. With that said, we are free to conduct services in accordance with the joint Guidance for Houses of Worship issued and updated by the Attorney General and Governor as of April 27, 2020.
Upon careful review of the guidelines and consideration of the minimum health protocols outlined, we believe that it is not feasible for us to resume services in our facilities at this time. It is advisable to continue conducting as many activities as possible remotely.
For now, we will continue to hold our services online and will re-evaluate on May 18 following Governor Abbott’s News Conference.
You can view our services online on our website or on YouTube.
The online services have been fruitful for us but it certainly cannot replace our in-person gatherings together. We are commanded in Scripture to not “forsake” the assembly of ourselves together (Hebrews 10:25). To “forsake” means to turn your heart away from. We are not turning our heart away from assembling together; we long for it. But we must not allow this situation to outlast our patience. Let’s continue to be joyful in hope, patient in trouble, and faithful in prayer (Romans 12:12). The Lord will faithfully and safely lead us. He is the Good Shepherd.
Richest blessings,
Pastor Jonathan Clatt and the Harvest City Board of Elders
Dear Harvest City Family,
As you are aware, the growing national and local concerns regarding the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) have been circulating in recent weeks. On Friday, city officials in San Antonio confirmed its first travel-related coronavirus case unrelated to the evacuees at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland and issued a public health emergency. We have been in contact with health officials and local church leaders for recommendations on the gatherings of our size.
With the health and safety of our church community being our highest priority at Harvest City, we have decided to not hold public services for the next two Sundays (3/15 and 3/22). This will allow us to support Mayor Nirenberg and the city’s efforts to contain the spread of the coronavirus and minimize the risk of illness in order to protect those who have been entrusted to us. For preventative steps click here.
Instead, we will hold our services online which will be accessible on Sundays at 9am. The services can be replayed any time once it is released.

Worry, anxiety, and fear can easily be stirred up in situations like these. However, the Bible declares that “God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind” (2 Tim 1:7). We choose not to operate under that spirit but rather one of faith that trusts in the sovereignty, wisdom, and power of our God. This is also an opportunity for us to be light in the midst of darkness. Your prayers, encouragement, and good deeds will go a long way in a fearful public. Even in the midst of all the news we might hear, the Good News of Jesus Christ is more relevant than ever. So share it!
We are praying for each of you. May God continue to protect you and provide healing to those who have been impacted.
We love you all! Until next time, we’ll see you online.

Dear Harvest City Family,
On March 11, 2020, the World Health Organization declared the Coronavirus (COVID-19) a global pandemic. The spreading of the virus has increased both awareness and public concerns. While we closely monitor the situation and the local response of other churches in our area, we will continue to meet during our regularly scheduled services. City officials have not recommended the cancellation of public events at this time. In the event that local and state health officials do recommend closure, we will do our very best to make the necessary arrangements to ensure you are informed of our plans.
Because the well-being of our community is of our highest priority, we are dedicated to providing clean, sanitary, and safe environments for you and your family to worship together at Harvest City. Special attention is being given to various touch points and commonly used areas. In addition, we have scheduled our team to continually clean during and between our three services. All children’s rooms and toys will be disinfected after each service by our Kids Team.
As a general rule, wash your hands frequently or use hand sanitizer with 60%-95% alcohol if soap and water are not available. We will additional provide hand sanitizer stations throughout the church.
If you are not feeling well, please remain at home. We will stream-live our services via Facebook. You can also watch sermons on demand on our website.
In light of all that is happening, do not let fear consume or control you. The Lord did not give us a spirit of fear (2 Tim 1:7)! We will continue to live by faith (Rom 1:17). If you missed last week’s message, “Stay Under,” you can view it below. I pray that it will stir up your faith to believe that God will protect and surround you and yours.
God is faithful!
Jonathan Clatt
